Via Ferrata Barba di Fior in Val di Sole

A very enjoyable via ferrata in a wild environment, at the foot of Fort Barba di Fior, a First World War fortress.

After a short walk to approach the wall, an aerial route is developed that consists of three stages: a via ferrata followed by a 30-metre abseil and a 65-metre Tyrolean traverse.

This via ferrata is preparatory to the classic Brenta via ferrata routes. It is ideal for adults who want to learn via ferrata techniques and for youngsters who want to put themselves to the test. Fun and ideal for those who want to experience a new activity in complete safety.

An experience for families and groups of friends where the spirit of adventure, adrenaline and fun will accompany you for over 3 hours.

Adults and children > 140 cm in height can participate in the via ferrata experience Barba di Fior. Transfer from the Ursus Adventures Centre to the starting point of the experience (Malga Frattasecca in Val di peio - 15 min) is by own car. The meeting point is 30 min before the start of the activity at the Ossana location.

We will provide you with the following equipment included in the price: harness, helmet, ropes, carabiners.

You will need to arrive with mountain clothing, rucksack, water bottle, gloves if you have them (work gloves are also fine) and a pair of mountain boots.

What is the Via Ferrata Barba di Fior?

This is a very fun equipped route located in a wild environment in Val di Peio, right at the foot of an old First World War fortress. It is a mix of adrenaline and history that includes climbing the wall, a 30-metre abseil and a spectacular 65-metre tyrolean (pulley).

Is it suitable for those who have never climbed?

Yes! This route is considered propaedeutic: it is ideal for adults who want to learn progression techniques and for youngsters who want to test themselves for the first time in total safety.

What are the requirements to participate?

The activity is open to adults and children. More than age, stature counts: you must beover 140 cm tall to be able to use the safety equipment correctly.

How long does the experience last?

The activity lasts about three hours in total, including the approach on foot, the equipped route and the rappelling and pulley manoeuvres.

What should I bring from home?

To tackle the ferrata in comfort, you need:

  • Mountain boots (essential for grip on rock)
  • Mountain clothing in layers and a windproof jacket
  • Backpack with water bottle
  • Gloves (work or cyclinggloves are also fine) to protect your hands from the metal cable.

What equipment is provided?

Ursus Adventures provides all the certified technical kit: helmet, harness, ropes and via ferrata set with carabiners.

How do you reach the place of activity?

The meeting point is at our headquarters in Ossana, 30 minutes before the start. After the briefing, the transfer to Malga Frattasecca in Val di Peio (approx. 15 minutes) is by own means.
