Trekking under the stars in Val di Sole

A special, unusual, memorable adventure that can be done all year round.

An astronomical night trek in Val di Sole, observing constellations and planets. Astro Trekking in Val di Sole is an experience that will take you far from the daily hustle and bustle, immersing you in a magical night of celestial observation and contemplation. Prepare yourself for an experience that will leave you breathless, leaving you with indelible memories of a night spent under the stars.

Val di Sole, nestled between the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, offers breathtaking scenery during the day, but it is at night that it reveals its most magical side.Astro Trekking will take you to isolated places far from city lights, giving you the chance to explore the starry sky in all its magnificence.

The places where we can have this experience are different but all characterised by low light pollution and peaceful surroundings. For example, we could decide to go to Fort Barbadifior in Val di Peio, or to the peat bogs of Campo Carlo Magno near Madonna di Campiglio. Or again to the Tonale Pass, in the Folgarida forests with destination Malga di Dimaro.

Or Valpiana and then, for those with legs, Malga del Doss above the ancient village of Ossana, which have been awarded the 'I cieli più belli d'Italia' (Italy's most beautiful skies) award and are among the best places to observe the Stars and the Milky Way. From here you can enjoy a unique view of the mountains and the valley below, in an atmosphere of peace and serenity, to rediscover a direct contact with the sky and the earth.

Once night falls, accompanied by the explanations of expert guides, you can enjoy some of the most beautiful skies in Italy. During the trek, nose upwards to observe all the celestial objects that populate the sky in every season. Our guides' explanations will be immersive and will arouse your curiosity for a night of real magic.

Val di Sole stands out as a destination of excellence for Astroturism. The AstroExperience can also be practised in winter using snowshoes. In this case, we recommend comfortable, warm clothing and boots suitable for the snow.
